Just a few thoughts from a simple girl as I try to plan a wedding amidst the craziness of my life...

About Me

My photo
I am 25 year old getting ready for our nuptials on May 01, 2010. I am currently a graduate student majoring in Occupational Therapy. I love to write and I love weddings (well I used to). I thought it would be a great way to blend a few of my loves into a blog. Sit back and enjoy while I attempt to juggle planning a wedding on a budget while doing schoolwork. So let the madness begin!!

Table Names

For the past few weeks I have been haunted by dreams of the wedding; first it was the guest list and last night it involved my table numbers/names.
I don't really know what my wedding theme is. I think it is more along the lines of simple elegance with touches of royalty throughout; after all my colors are purple and gold. Plus I found out the reception venue provides a special king and queen chair. Yay!
I've seen lots of pretty photos of table names/numbers and I am still not sure how I want to do it at my own reception. Since it will be a mixed cultural celebration, it would be nice to incorporate that somehow.

The pictures below can all be future DIY projects as well.

I am all about making everything have a dual purpose! The champagne bottle with table number can also be used for the champagne toasts! I think this is my favorite idea so far although I do love anything with a photograph. Picture courtesy of Thia Konig Photography)

I like how this couple used places that were important throughout their relationship with a lil' blurb. Cute way for your guests to get to know a little more about you. (Picture courtesy of Stella Alesi Photography)

I like how this couple used black and white shots with their table number incorporated; it really stood out against their table linens. (Picture courtesy of Baltazar Photography)

Those are all great ideas, and I especially like the idea of using the names of places that are special to the couple. We’re doing something similar, and are using postcards that depict our favorite California cities.

I’d say, don’t worry about having one unified “theme” if nothing stands out to you. As long as the wedding reflects your interests and tastes as a couple, it will be perfect. I discovered my theme after we’d already been planning for quite a while and were randomly tying in all types of different vineyard elements, as well as the California city names and Mexican food for the buffet. In the end, we decided to call the theme “Best of California” to tie it all together, but like I said, I don’t think it really matters!

Thanks BiCoastal Bride. I love your idea of the postcards, can't wait to see how that turns out.

Hi~ this is an excellent idea! I just got engaged so I'm looking for ideas all over the web, and you have some great ones :). I also started a blog about the wedding - it's only a few days in the making now but I'd love it if you take a look and hopefully we can share ideas. Thanks!
