Just a few thoughts from a simple girl as I try to plan a wedding amidst the craziness of my life...

About Me

My photo
I am 25 year old getting ready for our nuptials on May 01, 2010. I am currently a graduate student majoring in Occupational Therapy. I love to write and I love weddings (well I used to). I thought it would be a great way to blend a few of my loves into a blog. Sit back and enjoy while I attempt to juggle planning a wedding on a budget while doing schoolwork. So let the madness begin!!

Vistaprint.com is having a sale!

Vistaprint.com is having a special sale until October 10th. For those who like to DIY, who are about to press print, check out their FREE or reduced prices on postcards, small magnets, websites, and much more! I saw the announcement in my inbox and almost purchased something I was working on. I had to step away from the computer for a little bit before I approve something that isn't finished. I have a little more time before this sale ends.
Just wanted to let my fellow bloggers know because its always nice to save a few dollars.
Happy Friday!

Trying not to DIY into a tizzy

So I've been stressing about these save the dates and invitations, trying to do them myself, on top of everything else in my life. Now I'm a fairly creative person but this is a completely different ballgame. We still do not have our engagement pictures so I am improvising with some pictures that we already have.
All I know is DIY is hard work especially when I don't have Photoshop and don't really want learn nor do I have the time. I have a vision of my stationary in my head and I don't want to pay top dollar for someone else to do it. But I did find some inspiration online.
Wedding Paper Divas have really nice wedding stationary for anyone interested. I really like the design on this but have no idea how to replicate it myself. Still working on that. What I also like about them is that they let you put in your pictures and wording into the template so that you can see.
I also found some DIY fan programs from ayleebits.com. Its kinda cool.

On a different note, I've decided I'm obsessed with calla lillies and tulips. And hydrangeas, sweet pea, and peonies. OK, I guess I still need to narrow down my choices. But they look so pretty! I also found some great tips from Theknot.com on how to DIY your own flower centerpieces. My roommate did it for her wedding and all of us bridesmaids helped, it wasn't that difficult, just tedious and required lots of extra hands.
