For the first time ever I watched the MTV VMA's (or any award show) from beginning to finish. I never know who all the muscians are and why should I watch a 2 hour show for the 1-2 people that I like to perform? And I must say it was...interesting to see all the drama unfold. My favorite part of the night was when Beyonce gave Taylor Swift her opportunity to give her acceptance speech. I was doing my daily rounds of the gossip blogosphere and watched in amusement at the varied reactions her actions generated. I must say, I thought it was very admirable for her to stand up for someone else but not everyone agreed with my sentiments.
In a really weird way, I found a connection to this situation to my upcoming wedding. Even though it is my day and it should be about the celebration of two people. there are so many people trying to make it about them. At first I was mad but now I realize that this is human nature. I have two choices; I can get mad about the drama that my family is causing or I can continue to do what makes my fiance and I happy. So I will continue to make this wedding about us and let the snarky comments roll off my back. Easier said than done.
