Just a few thoughts from a simple girl as I try to plan a wedding amidst the craziness of my life...

About Me

My photo
I am 25 year old getting ready for our nuptials on May 01, 2010. I am currently a graduate student majoring in Occupational Therapy. I love to write and I love weddings (well I used to). I thought it would be a great way to blend a few of my loves into a blog. Sit back and enjoy while I attempt to juggle planning a wedding on a budget while doing schoolwork. So let the madness begin!!

Silk Flowers: Are they the way of future weddings?

I was talking to one of my classmates and she mentioned how she was planning her wedding on a budget of $7000. I don't have to tell you that nowadays I am obsessed with anyone who is attempting to have a fabulous wedding on a smaller budget. We compared notes and she mentioned silk flowers. I heard of them so I decided to research them myself. And they didn't look half bad. While I do like "real" flowers, I don't love them that much. Silk flowers are wayy cheaper and it cuts out the cost of going to a florist for my bouquets and centerpieces. So that a new option. The boutineries and corsages are less than $10.00!
I found all this on the Brides's Bouquet which I promptly book marked. I have so much wedding stuff bookmarked, its out of control! My computer might crash from wedding overload...Knock on wood. lol...

Can you tell that they are silk? More importantly, do I really care?

Ahhh!! They also have options for centerpieces! Do you know what this means? It means, I can order everything now and just store it away until later. That would be one more thing to cross off my list...And I could get real flowers for my bigger decorations pieces...hmmm...the wheels are turning...maybe saving money isn't that hard. See, I'm interested in saving money but I still want everything to look classy and elegant.

Hey! I'm a Philly bride too! Love your blog. I just posted something earlier this week about paper flowers which I think can also be beautiful.
